Earning World of Hyatt Points at Small Luxury Hotels of the World Properties
You will earn five base points for each whole United States dollar — or its equivalent — paid for an eligible rate during your stay at a participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World property; and you will earn points for up to a maximum total of three rooms at the same participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World property — including the room you occupy as a registered guest and an additional two rooms. You will not earn points on any spend that is not eligible spend at Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties. No charges at any Small Luxury Hotels of the World property — or any venue or outlet associated with such property — will qualify as eligible incidental charges or eligible non-stay charges for purposes of the program; nor will any meeting or event hosted at any Small Luxury Hotels of the World property count as a qualifying event for purposes of the program.
You will earn one credit for a night — which will qualify you towards earning elite tier status for the next year for only one room no matter how many rooms you reserved when booking your reservation — in World of Hyatt for every night that you:
- Stay at a participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World property;
- Books the stay through an official booking channel of Hyatt;
- Either pays an eligible rate or redeems a Free Night Award; and
- Associates your valid World of Hyatt membership number with the reservation at the time of reservation — each an “Eligible Small Luxury Hotels of the World Night”
Redeeming World of Hyatt Points at Small Luxury Hotels of the World Properties
Only the program awards expressly identified below may be redeemed at participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties; and Free Night Awards which can be redeemed at participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties are eligible to be gifted to another person by the redeeming Member.
- Standard-Room Free Night Awards. Please note that at some participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties, standard-room inventory available for Free Night Awards may be limited, but there are no black-out dates at participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties.
- 5-Brand Free Night Awards may be redeemed at participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties that otherwise meet the redemption requirements for these awards. However, Small Luxury Hotels of the World is not considered a Hyatt brand for purposes of earning the 5-Brand Free Night Award and stays at any participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World property will not count towards earning this award.
- Free Night Awards designated as redeemable at a Category 1-4 or Category 1-7 hotel or resort property may be redeemed at participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties that meet the redemption requirements for the applicable award. Free Night Awards redeemable at a Category 1-4 hotel or resort are those described in Section IV(f) of Appendix C to the program terms and as otherwise provided by the Program or Hyatt (such as anniversary Free Night Awards issued in connection with the Hyatt Credit Card). Free Night Awards redeemable at a Category 1-7 hotel or resort are those described in Section V(i) of Appendix C to the program terms and as otherwise provided by the Program or Hyatt (such as Category 1-7 Free Night Awards issued in connection with the Hyatt Credit Card). Please note that some Participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World Properties may be excluded from the categorization system applied to Hyatt hotels and resorts under the program or may be classified in a category other than 1-4 or 1-7.
Select Terms and Conditions
You must associate your World of Hyatt membership number with the applicable reservation — at the time of reservation — to receive Small Luxury Hotels of the World benefits in connection with eligible Small Luxury Hotels of the World spend; only the member directly associated with the eligible Small Luxury Hotels of the World spend will earn program credit for such activity. Points for a single reservation may not be shared by more than one Member.
Members cannot opt to earn benefits with any third party — such as Partner Loyalty Points with a participating airline, M life Rewards Tier Credits with the M life Rewards program of MGM, or other point substitutes — as a result of eligible Small Luxury Hotels of the World spend in lieu of World of Hyatt points.
Members who have obtained an elite tier in World of Hyatt and are entitled to earn bonus points on qualifying purchases will earn those bonuses on the eligible Small Luxury Hotels of the World spend. Such bonuses will be awarded as bonus points.
Please allow up to 15 business days after your qualifying activity for points and Tier-Qualifying Nights to be credited to your World of Hyatt account. Members who were not properly credited for any points or Tier-Qualifying Night(s) earned in connection with a stay at a participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World property may request an adjustment within one year of the check-out date of the applicable stay by contacting World of Hyatt customer service. Should you shorten or extend a stay during that stay at a participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World property, it may take six weeks or more to ensure that the correct number of points and Tier-Qualifying Night credits for that stay are in the Member’s account. Changes made to a stay during a stay may not be made through Hyatt Booking Channels. In some instances — such as shortened stays, no-shows, and late cancellations, points and Tier-Qualifying Night credits may be removed from your account.
No other Program award may be redeemed at a participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World property unless otherwise specified by Hyatt in other terms and conditions applicable to a particular award. The following types of award are not redeemable at any Small Luxury Hotels of the World property: Points + Cash Awards, Club Free Night Awards, any kind of Room Upgrade Award — whether secured by point redemption or otherwise, Dining, Spa & More Awards, or Future Meeting Credits. No Program award may be redeemed at any excluded Small Luxury Hotels of the World property.
If a participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World property charges a resort fee or taxes, such fee and taxes will be waived for members redeeming Free Night Awards unless prohibited by law. Please note that the Globalist benefit of a waived resort, destination or facility fee when paying an Eligible Rate is not valid at participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties.
Please also note that the In-hotel Benefits provided to members when they stay at a Hyatt hotel or resort are not provided to members staying at participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties. The Globalist benefit of a waived resort, destination or facility fee when paying an eligible rate is not valid at participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties.
Other terms and conditions — including those of the World of Hyatt frequent guest loyalty program and those of this partnership with World of Hyatt and Small Luxury Hotels of the World — apply.
Summary
The expansion of including participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties into the World of Hyatt frequent guest loyalty program was first announced back in August of this year; but keep in mind that not all hotel and resort properties which are affiliated with Small Luxury Hotels of the World participate in World of Hyatt.
This new relationship appears to be similar to the one between Hyatt and MGM Resorts International, which has the M life frequent guest loyalty program — but with that relationship, you are required to link your M Life and World of Hyatt membership accounts. I have yet to find any details pertaining to any requirement of linking your World of Hyatt and INVITED membership accounts. INVITED is the frequent guest loyalty program of Small Luxury Hotels of The World; and when you book a reservation to stay at a participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World property through the official booking channels of Hyatt, you are not eligible for benefits of the Invited frequent guest loyalty program.
Despite the fact that this new relationship with Small Luxury Hotels of The World almost doubles the footprint of the World of Hyatt frequent guest loyalty program to approximately 1,100 hotel and resort properties worldwide, that is still merely a fraction of the hotel and resort properties of competing frequent guest loyalty programs — such as Hilton Honors, IHG Rewards Club, Best Western Rewards, Choice Rewards, Le AccorHotels, and Marriott Rewards, which was consolidated with Starwood Preferred Guest and The Ritz-Carlton Rewards as of Saturday, August 18, 2018.
