What seems to be a Gypsy Vanner horse in Ireland was grazing near an old fort. I had never seen this breed of horse in person before and thought it was somewhat unusual — so I photographed it.

The small horse — which was grazing on the grass in the rain in the Irish countryside — is a breed of domestic horse from the British Isles that is also known as the Gypsy Cob, Traditional Gypsy Cob, Irish Cob, Romani Cob, or Gypsy Horse. It is associated with Irish Travellers and English Romanichal Travellers.

The horse was more interested in crunching on the grass — yes, it was that loud — than engaging with me in a conversation. I guess its throat was hoarse.
