Sometimes you need an infusion of miles or points to your membership account for whatever reason — perhaps to have enough to redeem for a limited time award as one example — and the best time to purchase or gift miles or points is when they are on sale, as with this miles and points on sale for Friday, July 14, 2023.

A sale may be a discount on the price required to purchase miles or points — or perhaps the frequent travel loyalty program from whom you are buying the miles or points will match your purchase up to 150 percent, which is another way of reducing the cost of miles or points.
Offers to purchase miles and points are not usually highlighted in their own articles here at The Gate. Rather, they are compiled in this article — typically whenever a new sale is announced or an old sale expires — so that you can shop for miles and points from different frequent travel loyalty programs conveniently in one spot and compare the sales to what you want or need.
Note that you may get a different offer from some of the frequent travel loyalty programs than what are posted in this article — especially when the offer is touted as a “mystery bonus” or some other vague term.

Hilton Honors: 100 Percent Bonus Points or 50 Percent Discount
You can receive either a bonus of 100 percent or a discount of 50 percent on any purchase of a minimum of 5,000 Hilton Honors points — up to a maximum limit of 160,000 Hilton Honors — but you have until the end of the day on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 to take advantage of this offer.
World of Hyatt: 25 Percent Bonus
Until the end of the day on Friday, August 11, 2023, you can enjoy a bonus of 25 percent on the purchase of a minimum of 7,000 World of Hyatt points — that is, spend a maximum of $2,640.00 to receive a total of 137,500 World of Hyatt points instead of 110,000 World of Hyatt points.
Wyndham Rewards: 25 Percent Discount
Starting with a minimum of 3,000 points, you can buy up to a maximum total of 120,000 points during the promotion period and get a bonus of 35 percent on your purchase through Tuesday, August 8, 2023.
American Airlines AAdvantage: Up to 35 Percent Discount
You can purchase or gift up to a maximum of 150,000 AAdvantage miles in order to receive a discount of up to 35 percent — for a cost of $3,668.44 for 150,000 miles — through the end of the day on Monday, July 31, 2023 as follows:
- Buy or gift 3,000 to 4,000 AAdvantage miles = 10 percent discount
- Buy or gift 5,000 to 9,000 AAdvantage miles = 15 percent discount
- Buy or gift 10,000 to 24,000 AAdvantage miles = 20 percent discount
- Buy or gift 25,000 to 149,000 AAdvantage miles = 25 percent discount
- Buy or gift 150,000 AAdvantage miles = 35 percent discount
Emirates Airline Skywards: 30 Percent Bonus
You can enjoy a bonus of 30 percent on the purchase or gifting of a minimum of 5,000 Emirates Skywards miles through Saturday, July 22, 2023.
Only members of the Skywards frequent flier loyalty program who have had any previous activity in their membership accounts can purchase miles.
Frontier Airlines Frontier Miles: 150 Percent Bonus
Until Friday, September 8, 2023, you can purchase or gift up to a maximum of 30,000 Frontier Miles and receive a bonus of up to 150 percent as follows:
- Buy 3,000 to 7,000 Frontier miles = 100 percent bonus
- Buy 8,000 to 19,000 Frontier miles = 120 percent bonus
- Buy 20,000 to 50,000 Frontier miles = 150 percent bonus
United Airlines MileagePlus: Up to 95 Percent Bonus
Until the end of the day on Friday, July 28, 2023, you can purchase or gift up to a maximum of 87,500 miles and receive a bonus of up to 95 percent as follows:
- Buy 5,000 to 19,000 MileagePlus miles = 50 percent bonus
- Buy 20,000 to 39,000 MileagePlus miles = 70 percent bonus
- Buy 40,000 to 87,500 MileagePlus miles = 95 percent bonus
Virgin Atlantic Airways Flying Club: Up to 60 Percent Bonus Miles
You can receive a bonus of up to 60 percent on Flying Club miles through Monday, July 31, 2023 at midnight Greenwich Mean Time when you purchase a minimum of 5,000 Virgin Atlantic Airways Flying Club miles as follows:
- Buy 5,000 to 19,000 Flying Club miles = 20 percent bonus Flying Club miles
- Buy 20,000 to 64,000 Flying Club miles = 30 percent bonus Flying Club miles
- Buy 65,000 to 99,000 Flying Club miles = 50 percent bonus Flying Club miles
- Buy 100,000 to 200,000 Flying Club miles = 60 percent bonus Flying Club miles

Remember that each frequent travel loyalty program has partners through which you can redeem miles or points; so you are not confined just to the product offered by an airline or lodging company.
Also be sure to read the terms and conditions of each other. Typically, all sales are final: once you have purchased your miles or points through these sales, you cannot return your points; and your money cannot be refunded.
I have purchased miles and points on rare occasions — and if you need to do so from the aforementioned frequent travel loyalty programs, now is the right time.
