A sale may be a discount on the price required to purchase miles or points — or perhaps the frequent travel loyalty program from whom you are buying the miles or points will match your purchase up to 150 percent, which is another way of reducing the cost of miles or points.

Note that you may get a different offer from some of the frequent travel loyalty programs than what are posted in this article — especially when the offer is touted as a “mystery bonus” or some other vague term.

Hilton Honors: 100 Percent Bonus Points
You can receive a bonus of 100 percent on any purchase of a minimum of 5,000 Hilton Honors points — up to a maximum limit of 240,000 Hilton Honors — but you have until the end of the day on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 to take advantage of this offer.
Marriott Bonvoy: Up to 50 Percent Bonus Points
You can buy or gift a minimum of 2,000 Marriott Bonvoy points — up to a maximum total of 150,000 points — and get a bonus of up to 50 percent through Wednesday, July 24, 2024. The bonus is a mystery; so different members will receive different offers.
Wyndham Rewards: 35 Percent Discount
Starting with a minimum of 3,000 points, you can get a discount of 35 percent on your purchase of Wyndham Rewards points through Friday, August 9, 2024.
Air Canada Aeroplan: Up to 125 Percent Bonus Miles
In celebration of 40 years of Aeroplan, you can purchase or gift a minimum of 15,000 Aeroplan points and receive a bonus of up to 125 percent between Monday, July 8, 2024 and Thursday, July 11, 2024. Then, from Friday, July 12, 2024 through Friday, July 19, 2024 members of the Aeroplan membership program can earn up to 100 percent bonus points when purchasing points.
Air India Flying Returns: 30 Percent Bonus
You will receive 30 percent bonus Air India Flying Returns points when you purchase points by today, Friday, July 5, 2024. In addition to the bonus in an interesting twist, the three members who purchase the most Flying Returns points during the promotional period will receive a stay of two nights — including breakfast and dinner — at Evolve Back Resorts.
American Airlines AAdvantage: Up to 35 Percent Discount
You can purchase or gift up to a maximum of 150,000 AAdvantage miles in order to receive a discount of up to 35 percent — for a cost of $3,668.44 for 150,000 miles — through the end of the day on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 as follows:
- Buy or gift 6,000 to 24,000 AAdvantage miles = 10 percent discount
- Buy or gift 25,000 to 79,000 AAdvantage miles = 15 percent discount
- Buy or gift 80,000 to 104,000 AAdvantage miles = 20 percent discount
- Buy or gift 105,000 to 149,000 AAdvantage miles = 25 percent discount
- Buy or gift 150,000 AAdvantage miles = 35 percent discount
Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards: Up to 50 Percent Discount
Through Wednesday, July 31, 2024, purchase a minimum of 3,000 Rapid Rewards points and receive a discount of up to 50 percent.
Virgin Atlantic Airways Flying Club: Up to 70 Percent Bonus Miles
You can receive a bonus of up to 70 percent on Flying Club miles through Sunday, July 7, 2024 at midnight Greenwich Mean Time when you purchase a minimum of 5,000 Virgin Atlantic Airways Flying Club miles as follows:
- Buy 5,000 to 24,000 Flying Club miles = 20 percent bonus Flying Club miles
- Buy 25,000 to 69,000 Flying Club miles = 40 percent bonus Flying Club miles
- Buy 70,000 to 124,000 Flying Club miles = 60 percent bonus Flying Club miles
- Buy 125,000 to 200,000 Flying Club miles = 70 percent bonus Flying Club miles

Remember that each frequent travel loyalty program has partners through which you can redeem miles or points; so you are not confined just to the product offered by an airline or lodging company.
Also be sure to read the terms and conditions of each offer. Typically, all sales are final: once you have purchased your miles or points through these sales, you cannot return your points; and your money cannot be refunded.
I have purchased miles and points on rare occasions — and if you need to do so from the aforementioned frequent travel loyalty programs, now is the right time.
