New Orleans on Super Bowl Sunday 2025 is not only where two professional football teams vie for the top title in the National Football League. It is also a city where one can dine on authentic cajun cuisine, upscale traditional cuisine, and good old fashioned fresh beignets for dessert. A walk down Bourbon Street in The Vieux Carre or French Quarter can be an exciting experience; and a simple sunrise over the Mississippi River is not to be missed.

Super Bowl LIX will be played at 6:30 in the evening Eastern Standard Time at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, which is featured on the left in the photograph shown above. The enclosed domed arena was formerly known as Mercedes-Benz Superdome and as Louisiana Superdome prior to that.
At night, Caesars Superdome is bathed in colored lights.

Trivia time: New Orleans was first sighted as Indian portage to Lake Pontchartrain and Gulf in 1699 by Bienville and Iberville. The city was founded by Bienville in 1718; named by him in honor of the Duke of Orleans, Regent of France. Called the Crescent City because of its location in the bend of the Mississippi River.
