…but depending on the elite tier status you have earned, those reservations will come at a cost as follows:

- Check in early at 9:00 in the morning or noon: starting at $10.00
- Late checkout at 2:00 in the afternoon: starting at $10
- DISCOVERIST
- Check in early at 9:00 in the morning or noon: starting at $10.00
- Late checkout at 2:00 in the afternoon: upon request as a World of Hyatt benefit
- EXPLORIST
- Check in early at 9:00 in the morning or noon: no charge
- Late checkout at 2:00 in the afternoon: upon request as a World of Hyatt benefit
- GLOBALIST
- Check in early at 9:00 in the morning or noon: no charge
- Late checkout at 4:00 in the afternoon: upon request as a World of Hyatt benefit
How to Reserve Checking In Early or Checking Out Late
To reserve early check-in or late checkout at Hyatt Place hotel properties:
- Add it to your reservation when you book on hyatt.com within seven days of your arrival
- Add it to an existing reservation on the World of Hyatt mobile software application program within seven days of your arrival
- Look out for an email a few days before your arrival and reserve it then

Early check in and late checkout are subject to availability and are not guaranteed. Offer is only valid at participating Hyatt Place hotel properties for members of the World of Hyatt frequent guest loyalty program who book an eligible rate or redeem an award night. Advanced reservation is required.
The fee associated with early check in and late checkout varies by specific hotel and will not be charged until after the early check-in/late checkout is confirmed. If the early check-in or late checkout time cannot be confirmed, the hotel may attempt to contact the guest via email and/or telephone. Offer may not be available on certain room types or levels and may be subject to limitations. If a hotel cannot accommodate room preference with early check-in or late checkout, it may, but is under no obligation to, offer guest an alternate room type. Early check-in and late checkout offer may only be available during certain specified periods before a stay — if any.
Early check-in/late checkout is non-transferable, cannot be modified, and is subject to individual hotel cancellation policy. Limited number of rooms allocated to this offer. Subject to availability. Blackout periods may apply including due to seasonal periods, special events, or extreme demand, and normal arrival/departure restrictions apply — unless otherwise noted.

Summary
This is an interesting way to monetize a feature which is not always defined, as individual hotel properties have different circumstances in providing the ability for guests to check in to their stays early or check out of them late…
…but I would suspect that if you have not earned Explorist or Globalist elite tier status, you might still be able to ask to check in early or check out late without being charged — depending on the circumstance as well as the person with whom you are dealing at the front desk.
This policy is generally good news for those who have earned Explorist or Globalist elite tier status; and mixed to bad news for all other guests who are members of the World of Hyatt frequent guest loyalty program.
