Petite Filet Sandwiches For Only Two Dollars at Morton’s The Steakhouse. Restaurant Review.

This event happens only once per year.

As part of an annual celebration of National Filet Mignon Day, Morton’s The Steakhouse offered petite filet sandwiches for only two dollars each on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 from 4:00 in the afternoon until 8:00 in the evening at participating locations in the United States — and after several years of writing about this, I finally had the chance to experience this for myself.

We arrived at the Atlanta location of Morton’s The Steakhouse at 4:00 in the afternoon — but we were told that the restaurant was not opening until 5:00 in the afternoon. We checked other information; but not the operating hours prior to arrival — although the locations that participated in this promotion were supposed to be open in time for the start of the promotion.

We did not expect the restaurant to be closed; but that was okay. The weather was pleasant and the car was already parked; so we waited on the outdoor patio next to the main entrance of the restaurant. We also could have waited in the main lobby inside of the building itself, which also has an entrance into the restaurant.

However, the manager came out of the restaurant and over to us to let us into the restaurant at approximately 4:30 in the afternoon, which was a very nice surprise. He did not have to do that; and we did not ask for it.

As two of the conditions of the offer were dine in only and bar area only, we were escorted to the bar area of the restaurant, which was both empty and rather cozy. The tables and chairs on the left are considered part of the bar area as well for larger parties who want a table. I normally do not care for sitting in bar chairs; but these chairs were rather comfortable.

We placed our order, which was limited to a maximum of eight petite filet sandwiches per person.

The sandwiches arrived in fewer than 20 minutes.

I thought that the toasted roll would overwhelm the sandwich; but the blend of meat and bread worked well. The sauce is supposedly a mixture of mustard and mayonnaise — which sounds boring — but it had a nice kick to it as though horseradish was one of the ingredients.

The petite filet sandwiches were delicious. This was my plate after enjoying them.

We also ordered Parmesan & Truffle Matchstick Fries, which were golden brown, crisp, and flavorful. $13.00

The fries came with ketchup, which went well with the fries; but it was not needed.

The main dining area of the restaurant was empty; so I thought I would grab a couple of photographs.

Final Boarding Call

This promotion was not valid with any other offer or discount. It was only available while supplies lasted at the bar area of each restaurant, as you cannot take advantage of this offer seated at a table in the main area of the restaurant. Sales tax and gratuity are not included.

The overall experience was very good in terms of food, service, comfort, ambiance, and cost. Morton’s The Steakhouse will likely offer this promotion next year on Thursday, August 13, 2026. If you are interested in partaking in it, I recommend that you reserve that evening for your experience.

I first reported on this offer 12 years ago on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at What’s Your Point?, a weblog of First2Board which is now defunct. I do not know if Morton’s offered the same promotion last year.

Morton’s The Steakhouse is a chain of restaurants which offers on its menu beef rated Prime — the highest grade possible — by the United States Department of Agriculture. I have dined at multiple locations of Morton’s The Steakhouse. My experience is that the food was very good; but not the best which I have ever eaten — especially considering the cost of the meal — as I have been to other steakhouses which offer a better overall value and experience for the money…

…and I do not necessarily mean less expensive when I say value, either.

This promotion is not as good as it used to be, as back in 2015, it valid from opening time until closing time at participating restaurants; the petite filet sandwiches used to cost only one dollar each; and patrons were limited to a maximum of twelve sandwiches per person. However, this is still a good offer if you are able to take advantage of it. In 2016, this promotion was valid through 10:00 in the evening and not until closing time.

My guess is that this promotion was designed to have people seated in the bar area to order alcoholic beverages in order to offset what is likely a loss leader with the petite filet sandwiches at two dollars apiece. If so, this strategy worked well: by the time we left, the bar area was crowded — and everyone had ordered multiple drinks.

The restaurant chain has 53 locations throughout the United States; one location in Puerto Rico; and nine international locations — one each in Beijing, Hong Kong, Mexico City, Manila, Shanghai, Singapore, Taipei, Tokyo, and Toronto. All of the 63 locations of Morton’s The Steakhouse can be viewed here.
