N ot knowing how to kill a crisp fall morning on the day of a flight operated by Ryanair — which was scheduled to depart from Dublin Airport in the early afternoon for Madrid — a colleague suggested that I spend some time in Howth, which is a seaside town approximately 16 kilometers east and slightly south of the airport.
Another colleague — who had rented a car — was also interested in visiting Howth; so we departed from the Hilton Dublin Airport hotel property and took what eventually became a short yet scenic drive to Howth.
Here are some photographs which I took in chronological order while we were in Howth:
Although you will likely not get close views of the airplanes departing from Dublin Airport, you can still sit on a bench and partake in some “planespotting.”
You might want to even imbibe in a pint or two at the local pub, which I did not do because I do not drink alcoholic beverages.
If you have a few hours before your flight departs from Dublin Airport and it happens to be a nice day, do be sure to take the short drive of approximately 20 minutes to Howth and spend some time relaxing and watching people.
