W hile I was out waiting for the start of an event, I had to look twice to see what happened to a truck whose driver apparently ignored a low clearance warning for an overpass and did some significant damage to the top of the cargo area of a panel truck, as shown in these photographs of what NOT to do with a rental from Enterprise Rent-A-Car — or, in this case, Enterprise Truck Rental.

Without further ado, here is what the truck looked like after the incident — and no, I was neither the driver nor the renter of the truck.
The damage is not immediately apparent when viewing the passenger side of the truck…
…but when viewing the driver side of the truck, the shearing of the top of the truck is rather apparent and obvious.
A closer view of the bulk of the damage shows the twisted metal and fibers of the composite material of the walls of the cargo area of the truck.
On each side of the front of the truck is a sticker warning that the truck requires at least 13 feet of clearance — now slightly less after much of the top was sheared back; or actually slightly more as the damaged materials technically rendered the truck taller.
Summary
Actually, the photographs depict what not to do with any vehicle; but I digress as usual.
I have not patronized Enterprise Rent-A-Car as a customer in any capacity whatsoever since my negative experience of attempting to return a rental car after hours during a weekend soured any desire for me to ever rent a vehicle from that company again; so I cannot imagine what the renter of that truck will have to go through to get this situation resolved — or how much it will cost.
