Look at options with premium credit cards, as they could include unlimited complimentary access to Priority Pass lounges and restaurants at airports around the world. If lounge access is important to you and you have not earned elite status in a frequent travel loyalty program at a level high enough to enjoy this benefit, consider that the cost of Priority Pass would help justify the annual fee of the credit card.

If you currently hold either the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card or the Hilton Honors American Express Surpass Card, note that the benefit of access to Priority Pass lounges will be discontinued for most card holders effective as of Thursday, February 1, 2024. If you are not interested in applying for another premium credit card that has this benefit, you may want to consider taking advantage of this offer…

…but if you decide to take advantage of this offer, know four things:

  1. Although I appreciate access to the airport lounges which are part of the Priority Pass network, they are usually not as good as those found in hotel and resort properties or many of the airline lounges in airports, in my opinion
  2. If a lounge becomes overcrowded at certain hours of the day, access may be restricted to prevent holders of Priority Pass cards from entering the lounge.
  3. Many lounges which are part of the Priority Pass network only allow access to visitors prior to departure of their flights and not upon arrival after the conclusion of a flight.
  4. Despite greater than 1,300 lounges and restaurants at airports around the world participating in Priority Pass, airports do exist where a Priority Pass membership is useless — for example, at Keflavik International Airport in Iceland, where no lounge accepts the Priority Pass card.

  1. I feel like that 25% off is a grab just before PP goes bankrupt. Maybe PP is better overseas but traveling within the US it complete trash. I struggle to find any airport in the US that still accepts PP and the very few that do normally have strict times that PP members can access which is normally when most are not flying. Within the USA you can still find some Minute Suite if you think that 1 hr stay is worth it but with those if you don’t book them well in advance 99% chance you will not be able to use it during your layover. Major Airports such as ATL, DFW,SEA,DEN,LAX,ORD,SEA etc… only offer Minute Suite and on a single concourse may have “The Club” lounge available which is normally to far away from your arrival concourse and “the club” lounges I have experienced are all run down better off to save money on PP and buy a meal in the airport. PP is in the USA is not even worth having it for free which is why I also believe AMEX has started to drop PP as a benfit.

Maybe if your traveling international it has some benfit? I have not checked or experienced it yet.

  2. In addition to make PP even more worthless, Minute Suite which is basically the only thing they still offer in the USA I just discovered update if your using PP you can no longer book your free 1 hr in advance. To book in advance they only accept a min of 2hr booking which cost $37 using PP. If you want to only want to use your free 1 hr PP benefit it must be booked in person which has about a 99% chance it will not be available when you arrive. Minute Suite website says:

“Please note that (PP) complimentary one-hour reservations are not available to be booked online and may only be booked in person, at time of arrival, and are based upon availability.”

All the more reason to make PP worthless.
