Pilies Gatve is one of the main streets in Vilnius — which is the capital city of Lithuania — on which only pedestrians are permitted to use, with many small shops which sell works of art.
Sunday Morning Photograph August 14 2022: Pilies Galerija in Vilnius.
Being an artist myself, I was inspired while walking down Pilies Gatve — which translates into English as Castle Street — and saw a tunnel in which I spontaneously entered. I turned around and thought that the way pedestrians were walking by on the cobblestone street with brick buildings was cool — so I waited and took photographs of each pedestrian that walked by.
I then chose one photograph to feature in this article — but I liked the way it looked in both color and black and white; so I decided to elevate the photograph up a notch by isolating the poster to remain in color instead of being converted to black and white along with the rest of the image.
