What Is Wrong With This Photograph? Part 294

I could have been taken away by this message.

For this edition of this popular game, can you guess what you believe is wrong — or, at least, seemingly quite bizarre — with this screen shot part 294?

I received an e-mail message prior to my stay at the InterContinental Sydney hotel pertaining to transportation to and from the airport.

The photographs shown here were taken at what is known as a country pub that is located on the side of a main highway in Australia.

I was left puzzled when I realized that an image of coffee beans represented that “takeaway alcohol” was “also available”. Perhaps Irish coffee is the theme here?

Favorite answer by rmah: “looks like this place offers a cup o’ beans…and o’ jim beam!”

Note: In another rare exception, I must highlight both of the following comments as favorites, as I simply could not choose one over the other:

Favorite comment by derek: “The window frames need painting.”

Favorite comment by Jim F.: “What I find most amusing is the inverted, reverse image reflected at the top of the board. Alcohol is, apparently, only to be ‘take(n) away’ in plastic cups. Well, at least the sign doesn’t say, ‘DRIVE away alcohol also available’! As for the coffee beans on a sign touting alcohol sales, Kahlua and Bailey’s are coffee-flavored liqueurs.”

  1. Is either the hotel property or the airport so sprawling as to result in such a broad range of possible taxi charges? Presumably (since the email was generated by the Intercontinental Sydney) the “location” (either destination or origin) other than the airport for all recipients of this communication is the hotel itself, so what sense does “…depending on…your specific location” make?

  2. So the email is not a welcome because, at the end, they say that they look forward to welcoming you.

Sydney airport has 2 terminals on opposite sides of a runway so it figures that the taxi fare would vary depending on which terminal you get on when going to the hotel.
