I f you have been wanting to achieve lifetime Diamond VIP elite level status in the Hilton HHonors frequent guest loyalty program, it appears that 2015 will be the year in which you will finally have a chance to achieve that status, according to this comment posted by HHonorsRepresentative on FlyerTalk — also known as Erin, who is an official company representative and ambassador to FlyerTalk:
In 2015, HHonors will begin introducing Lifetime Diamond Status! As you may know, we’re always looking for new ways to reward you and we take into consideration your feedback on ways to recognize our most loyal members. Over the past several years, we’ve heard from you that Lifetime Diamond Status is important to you and I’m thrilled to announce that we will be inviting some of our most tenured Diamond members into this status.
I’ll have more details for you in early 2015 and I understand our first Lifetime Diamond members will receive their invitations in the early part of 2015. At this time, this is all the information I have on Lifetime Diamond Status, but I will do my best to keep you all updated as I hear more!
FlyerTalk member adambrock figured out from an e-mail message he received that there was a hint of the possibility of lifetime status in the Hilton HHonors frequent guest loyalty program. The e-mail message contained the following text:
Hi Adam,
We have a lot of exciting things going on, like new bonus promotions and exclusive member-only deals. And we want to ensure we have your correct mailing address so you don’t miss out on any of it.
Please update your mailing address now to ensure you’re receiving the latest exclusive offers and getting the most out of your HHonors membership.

I have no more details to share with you at this time; but FlyerTalk members are already speculating on the requirements for earning lifetime Diamond VIP status in the Hilton HHonors frequent guest loyalty program in this discussion — and have been wanting to achieve that lifetime elite level status since at least November 3, 1999.
Other frequent guest loyalty programs already offer lifetime status. For example, Starwood Preferred Guest introduced SPG lifetime elite level status for its members effective as of March 1, 2012 as follows:
- Platinum 500 eligible nights plus any ten years of Starwood Preferred Guest Platinum elite level status
- Gold 250 eligible nights plus any five years of Starwood Preferred Guest elite level status
Marriott Rewards adjusted the qualifications for achieving lifetime elite level status as of January 1, 2013 where it is now simpler to understand and apparently easier to earn as follows:
- Platinum 750 nights plus 2 million Marriott Rewards frequent guest loyalty program points
- Gold 500 nights plus 1.6 million Marriott Rewards frequent guest loyalty program points
- Silver 250 nights plus 1.2 million Marriott Rewards frequent guest loyalty program points
The number of years in which you are a member of the Marriott Rewards frequent guest loyalty program no longer be a part of the criteria needed to attain lifetime elite level status.
One word of advice is to ensure that your e-mail address is up to date with the Hilton HHonors frequent guest loyalty program; and no, I did not receive the aforementioned e-mail message.
There will be more to come on this development as details are released…
