If you have not yet submitted a claim, tonight is your last opportunity to do so: you may be eligible for a share of $113 million from an antitrust settlement which was reached in litigation if you purchased a laptop computer, camcorder, mobile telephone, “smartphone”, tablet computer, digital audio player, camera, or cordless power tool for your own use and not for resale between Saturday, January 1, 2000 and Tuesday, May 31, 2011 and was a resident of the United States during that period of time…
Ends Tonight: Get Your Share of Money From Lithium-Ion Battery Antitrust Settlement
…but you must either submit your claim here or via postal mail using this document by tonight, Friday, July 19, 2019 at 11:59 in the evening Hawaii Standard Time.
The claim also applies to replacement lithium-ion batteries for the aforementioned products.
How much payment you will receive and when you will receive it is still unknown at this time until all claims are received and the court approves the final settlement. Because the total settlement payout is a fixed amount, the payment amount that you receive will be based on several factors, including the number of valid claims filed by all claimants and the count of products purchased by all claimants
Regardless of how many claims are filed, no money will be returned to the settling defendants once the court finally approves the settlements.
You can choose to exclude yourself from — or object to — this class-action lawsuit by completing a form available here.
Summary
Frequent travelers typically carry at least one of the aforementioned products — I myself carry as few as two or as many as four of those products whenever I travel — so I cannot imagine that you would not qualify to benefit from this settlement.
The original deadline was Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 11:59 in the evening Pacific Standard Time; and the share was originally $44.95 million when I first wrote this article back on Wednesday, June 28, 2017. If you do decide to participate in this settlement, completion of the claim form supposedly will consume only approximately five minutes of your time; and proof of purchase of the products in question is not required…
…but do not expect any major windfall, as you will not exactly get rich from this settlement. For example, if 113,000,000 claims are submitted and successfully fulfilled, you will receive at most one dollar per claim; and 11,300,000 successful claims during a period of greater than eleven years — which is certainly possible with the general products in question — will only yield at most ten dollars per claim.
