Get Diamond Elite Status When Purchasing Points With IHG One Rewards

A discount of 20 percent is included if you are a qualified cardmember.

I received an offer via e-mail message moments ago with which I could get Diamond Elite status for 2026 when purchasing points with IHG One Rewards — but I do not know whether this offer is targeted to me and select other members of IHG One Rewards as “intended recipients”.

The offer which I received as a holder of the IHG One Rewards Premier credit card is that if I purchase 115,000 elite qualifying points for a total of $784.00 — I would save $192.00 with a discount of 20 percent off of the regular price of $980.00 — by Wednesday, December 31, 2025, I will secure Diamond Elite status through 2026.

Final Boarding Call

Last year, I paid $768.00 to have Diamond elite status with IHG One Rewards — and doing so turned out to be a good move, as it benefitted me in the form of upgrades and complimentary breakfasts; so I wanted you to know about this offer in case you were interested and are able to participate in it…

…and if you do not qualify for this offer, please accept my apologies, as I usually do not post articles pertaining to targeted offers…

  1. I think many of us received it, I got it and saw it on a few blogs earlier today but its for 120,000 points, purchase $800.

Im passing, not worth it for me. Im Plat status now, 2 year ago lost my 10+ year run as Diamond. These days I don’t stay as many IHG but even when I had Diamond status I did not see much of any benfit. Only around 2% of the IHG hotel I would stay at ever recognized my status basically only Intercontinental & when they do they always try to sell the Intercontinental Ambassador program (I never purchased it). The occasional Kimpton would also recognized Diamond status (write my name on a chalk board) and time to time upgrade the room but overall I did not find much value with Diamond status tonpay for it, even back when traveled for work 6-9 months put of the year & earned it organically. Most of the lower end stay Staybridge, Candlewood, Avid, HIE… all give free breakfast regardless & don’t actualy have worthy rooms to upgrade, not to mention since they moslty don’t recognized status upon check-in (if they do just for bonus checkin points), asking for upgrades as a Diamond member becomes akward.

IMO paying for Diamond only worth it if you tend to stay at the high end IHG at least 2 weeks a year.
