A sale may be a discount on the price required to purchase miles or points — or perhaps the frequent travel loyalty program from whom you are buying the miles or points will match your purchase up to 150 percent, which is another way of reducing the cost of miles or points.

IHG One Rewards: 100 Percent Bonus Points
You have until the end of the day on Saturday, December 30, 2023 to take advantage of receiving a bonus of 100 percent on IHG One Rewards points with a minimum purchase of 5,000 IHG One Rewards base points and up to a maximum limit of 250,000 IHG Rewards base points for $2,500.00 — not including the bonus points.
The Leading Hotels of the World Leaders Club: Up to 100 Percent Bonus Points
Through Tuesday, December 26, 2023, you can purchase a minimum of 2,000 The Leading Hotels of the World Leaders Club points and receive a bonus of up to 100 percent — meaning you can get as many as 50,000 bonus Leaders Club points — as follows:

Radisson Rewards: Up to 50 Percent Bonus
Get a bonus of up to 50 percent on your purchase of Radisson Rewards points through Thursday, December 21, 2023 as follows:

- Buy or gift 5,000 to 54,000 AAdvantage miles = 20 percent discount

Remember that each frequent travel loyalty program has partners through which you can redeem miles or points; so you are not confined just to the product offered by an airline or lodging company.
Also be sure to read the terms and conditions of each offer. Typically, all sales are final: once you have purchased your miles or points through these sales, you cannot return your points; and your money cannot be refunded.
