Prior to traveling as a passenger aboard an airplane on a domestic flight from Sydney to Brisbane, only the REX Lounge was available in Terminal 2 of the airport as part of the Priority Pass network of airport lounges.

Oddly, the entrance to the REX Lounge is by the check in area of Gate G2; and users of the lounge must check in with one of the gate agents for access — if the gate agents are not busy helping passengers check in for a flight.
After showing my credentials, we were admitted into the lounge.
Plenty of areas with different types of seating were available throughout the small lounge, which was somewhat empty.
We chose to sit in the corner near the entrance to the lounge. The chairs were next to windows with views of the inside of the terminal outside of the lounge…
…but the small triangular shape of the lounge also allowed us to view outside to one of the runways of the airport itself — so one could watch airplanes take off or land, depending on the weather.
If you are looking to have a meal in the REX Lounge in Terminal 2, forget it. The offerings are comprised of snacks and beverages — but at least they were not of inferior quality.
Three varieties of sandwiches and wraps were available in the small refrigerator — as well as bottles of water and orange juice, cans of Coca-Cola and Sprite, bottles of beer, two types of miniature cheeses, and assorted cold condiments such as butter.
Assorted flavors of tea and coffee — along with condiments, paper cups, and plastic spoons — were offered on one counter…
…while individually wrapped snacks — such as blueberry muffins, Arnott’s Biscuits, Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramello Koala chocolates, and the original variety of Arnott’s Tim Tams — were available on the other counter. Plates, glasses, and ceramic cups were stacked on glass shelves above the counter.
One can also choose from three different bottles of wine.
REX Lounge was equipped with several desks with rolling adjustable chairs, individual lamps, and electrical outlets for guests who needed to get work done and print anything on the printer. The toilets are to the left of this business center.
A limited amount of reading material was also provided for guests to peruse — including the potentially useful book that is shown in the photograph below.
Final Boarding Call
My experience at REX Lounge was fine — but nothing extraordinary in any way. It was quiet, comfortable, and had some provisions — so it served its purpose. As I previously mentioned, do not expect to fill up on a meal in this lounge.
The REX Lounge in Sydney is located adjacent to Gate G2 in Terminal 2 of Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport. Two children younger than twelve years of age are admitted free per adult. Alcoholic drinks are available from 3:00 in the afternoon daily. Complimentary massage chairs and workstations are available.

- Monday through Friday from 5:30 in the morning through 7:00 in the evening
- Saturday from 5:30 in the morning through 5:00 in the afternoon
- Sunday from 7:30 in the morning through 7:00 in the evening
