This Photograph Is a Real Drag. Write a Caption For It.
To get started, here are a few examples that I provided.
Noticing the airplane operated by United Airlines in the background on the tarmac awaiting its turn to take off on the runway at the international airport in Atlanta, here are three possible captions for this photograph as could have been possibly thought or said by at least one person aboard that airplane:
- “Times must be really hard for Delta Air Lines. They cannot even afford to tow their airplanes with a tow tractor.”
- “Wow. Those employees of Delta Air Lines are so dedicated to their company and customers that they will personally tow the aircraft to the gate themselves.”
- “Aw — why do passengers of Delta Air Lines get to have all the fun? Flight attendant, when we land in Chicago, can we pull this airplane? Please?!?”
How about this for a caption, disregarding that United Airlines airplane in the background?
- “Folks, this is your captain speaking. We are experiencing a mechanical difficulty. We will need everyone to deplane, grab a part of the rope, and pull the airplane into the gate. We hope you enjoyed your flight and we hope to see you again on a future flight. Flight attendant, please get me some popcorn.”
Final Boarding Call
To explain the actual context of the photograph, Delta Air Lines hosts an annual event at its world headquarters in Atlanta called — what else — Delta Air Lines Jet Drag to raise funds for the American Cancer Society for cancer research where teams of employees and guests pull a Boeing 757 airplane weighing approximately 255,000 pounds a total of 25 feet. The 2025 version of this event just concluded, as it occurred on Friday, April 25, 2025; and it raised $1,490,102.00 — that is ahead of the goal of $1,400,000.00 — but a 2026 edition is likely to happen at approximately the same time next year.
I am proud to have been a part of this event in the past. You can read more details and information about the experience — as well as about the Delta Air Lines Jet Drag in general — in the following articles here at The Gate With Brian Cohen:

Anyway, the time has come for you to take a short break and have a little fun: can you think of a clever caption which captures this moment? If so, please post it in the Comments section below.
