Hilton already passed its milestone of 100 years last month on Friday, May 31, 2019; and British Airways is readying for Sunday, August 25, 2019 when the airline gets its turn to celebrate 100 years as well…
Virgin Atlantic Airways Celebrates 35 Years Today, June 22, 2019
…but another airline which is based in the United Kingdom is celebrating its own milestone today, Saturday, June 22, 2019 — and that airline is Virgin Atlantic Airways, as it celebrates 35 years since flight VS1 departed Gatwick Airport in London on its maiden transoceanic voyage to Newark on Friday, June 22, 1984…
…and it also lists “35 things we love most about being Virgin Atlantic” at its official weblog — nobody apparently thought that the airline would last more than six months. Little did anyone know back then.
By the way, you can secure a transatlantic flight round trip on the airline for as little as £267.00 — as well as flights to India, Israel and other parts of the world — but this sale is only in effect until Tuesday, June 25, 2019.
Summary
I have never flown as a passenger aboard an airplane operated by Virgin Atlantic Airways simply because the opportunity never presented itself — but perhaps one day I could try out the premium product it has to offer, as I have heard positive experiences about it.
I learned about about this milestone from The Jetset Boyz from this comment which was posted at this article pertaining to a sale which has since expired. Thank you!
As for Virgin Atlantic Airways, may the airline celebrate at least another 35 years in business. Congratulations to everyone who is a part of the team.
By the way, number 35 is the most important item on that aforementioned list, in my opinion…
