The latest FIFA World Cup concluded in Qatar on Sunday, December 18, 2022; and only eleven days later, Edson Arantes do Nascimento died at 82 years of age on Thursday, December 29, 2022 due to a complication of colon cancer which resulted in multiple organ failure.
More popularly known as simply Pelé, the native Brazilian won the FIFA World Cup in 1958, 1962, and 1970; was a member of the New York Cosmos soccer team; and is considered to be one of the greatest football players of all time.
This article commemorates both the memory of Pelé and the Fédération Internationale de Football Association — which is the official name for FIFA — with a quiz that recently appeared at the official Internet web site of the American Association of Retired Persons, which is better known as AARP.
