You Can Now Redeem Hilton Honors Points for Lyft Rides
…until now.
You can redeem your Hilton Honors points for ride credits with Lyft effective immediately, as you may select a fixed amount of points you would like to redeem in exchange for Lyft credits in increments ranging from ten dollars through $100.00.
This means that you can now earn and redeem Hilton Honors points for every ride you take which is operated by Lyft.
Along with the implementation of the new redemption feature, you can also request a Lyft ride within the Hilton Honors mobile software application program during your stay, with the location of the hotel or resort property at which you are staying automatically populating as the location to pick you up.
Additionally, you can redeem Hilton Honors points for Lyft credits and share or gift them to friends or family members this holiday season.
Many Hilton Honors members rely on ride share services. “Since we launched in May, our members have earned millions of Points with Lyft,”, according to Mark Weinstein, who is the senior vice president and global head of customer engagement, loyalty and partnerships at Hilton. “We’ve seen tremendous engagement from this partnership.”
The share of adults in the United States who use ride sharing services has more than doubled since 2015; and they expect seamless, digital integration to help simplify their lives — which is why Hilton Honors and Lyft launched an exclusive partnership to provide members the control, connectivity and personalized experience that they increasingly want in their everyday lives and when they are traveling.
If you are looking for other ways to earn Hilton Honors points to use toward your next Lyft ride, consider the following three of many examples for you to maximize your Hilton Honors points:
- Stay two nights at The Bernic, Tapestry Collection by Hilton in New York City, at which you can earn enough Hilton Honors points to redeem for a Lyft ride to a nearby restaurant or museum.
- If you are hosting a “Friendsgiving”, you can earn enough Hilton Honors points to call a Lyft ride for your friends to attend the feast when you stay four nights at the new Conrad Washington DC hotel property.
- Hilton reserves special offers and promotions exclusively for members to accelerate the ability to earn Hilton Honors points — such as the current Power Up promotion, with which you can earn double Hilton Honors bonus points per stay or triple Hilton Honors bonus points per stay when using an eligible Hilton Honors credit card during the promotion period.
Link Your Hilton Honors and Lyft Accounts and Enjoy Discounts
In order to take advantage of this offer, you are are strongly encouraged — but not required — to link your Hilton Honors account and Lyft account; and your rides must occur within the United States and Canada.
If you do not yet have a Lyft account, this is your opportunity to enjoy a discount of five dollars off of each of your eligible three first rides — meaning that you enjoy a total of $15.00 in discounts — within 60 days of signing up as a new user of Lyft.
An eligible Lyft ride is any paid Lyft ride — which includes Lyft, Lyft XL, Lyft Black XL, Lux, and Lux Black — requested and completed using the Lyft mobile software application program within the United States or Canada after registering the linked account.
Earn 2 Hilton Honors Points With Every Dollar Spent on Lyft Shared Rides
If you prefer to save money using Lyft on shared rides, you can earn two Hilton Honors points with every dollar you spend on eligible shared rides with Lyft — excluding taxes, fees, tolls and gratuities — effective immediately within the United States and Canada.
An eligible Lyft shared ride is any paid Lyft shared ride which is requested and completed using the Lyft mobile software application program within the United States or Canada after registering the linked account.
Keep in mind that when Lyft fares are split amongst multiple users, only the user requesting the ride will earn Hilton Honors points.
Select Terms and Conditions
Lyft users who have linked accounts may earn Hilton Honors points on up to a maximum of $10,000.00 in United States dollars of eligible Lyft spend per calendar year.
You must be a member of the Hilton Honors frequent guest loyalty program — you can join now free of charge if you are not yet a member — in order to take advantage of this partnership.
You cannot be credited with Hilton Honors points for Lyft rides which occurred prior to linking your accounts. You must first link your accounts prior to your next eligible Lyft ride in order to receive credit.
Lyft is not available in all locations, including Puerto Rico. Lyft ride credits valid for Lyft users 18 years of age and older only. When calculating Points earned, fares will be rounded to the nearest dollar, and then any promotional offer will be calculated on the rounded amount. Lyft credits can only be used on the Lyft app and are not redeemable for cash. Lyft credits cannot be transferred or combined with other offers. Any charges exceeding the Lyft credit value will be applied to your personal payment method.
To ensure that your accounts are actively linked, visit Connected Services within the Lyft mobile software application program. You should see a Hilton Honors logo if your accounts are successfully linked.
A maximum of only one Hilton Honors account may be linked to a Lyft account; and a maximum of only one Lyft account can be linked to a Hilton Honors account.
Hilton Honors points can take up to 24 hours after your ride is completed to post to your Hilton Honors membership account. If greater than three business days have passed since you completed your ride and Hilton Honors Points have not been posted to your account, please validate the ride in question via the Lyft Help Center. Once your ride has been validated, please contact the Hilton Customer Support Team.
You cannot earn Hilton Honors points as a driver for Lyft; and you cannot earn Hilton Honors Points on Scooters.

Summary
Although this partnership between Hilton Honors and Lyft is great news if you have always wanted to earn and redeem Hilton Honors points while using ground transportation, you should still compare alternatives if you are sensitive to price, as Lyft will not always be the least expensive option.
Also, keep in mind that you will need to spend a minimum $5,000.00 on eligible Lyft rides — again, excluding taxes, fees, tolls and gratuities — to earn enough Hilton Honors points to redeem for a night at one of these hotel properties. That, of course, is assuming that you only use Lyft to earn Hilton Honors points.
I think that this is a great option to earn Hilton Honors points — and despite not favoring ride share services as a mode of transportation, I have been considering taking advantage of it…
…but in terms of redeeming Hilton Honors points, I personally find that I get the best value on stays at almost 6,000 hotel and resort properties within the brand portfolio of Hilton.
