A ban on domestic travel in the United States is now in effect as of today, Monday, March 16, 2020 for all personnel of the Department of Defense of the United States and their relatives through Tuesday, May 11, 2020 in response to the 2019 Novel Coronavirus — which is also known as COVID-19 or 2019-nCoV.
All Domestic Travel Banned For Personnel of Department of Defense of the United States
A memorandum was signed by David L. Norquist — who is the deputy secretary of defense of the United States — which is to include permanent changes of station and temporary duty travel.
“There are 10 service members who have tested positive for COVID-19. One DOD civilian and two DOD contractors have the virus, as do eight family members, officials said. There are 13 DOD laboratories that can test samples for the virus”, according to this article written byThe Pentagon reservation is also taking actions and raised the health protection condition in the building and associated properties to Bravo. This means all tours of the building are cancelled. Starting March 16, offices in the building will go on minimum manning, with vast numbers of employees teleworking.”
Additionally, access to the Pentagon is being restricted to international visitors — as well as officials of the Pentagon who have been to the following 32 countries:
