I just received an e-mail message moments ago that I now have Diamond elite status through 2027 with the IHG One Rewards membership program.

Thinking that the aforementioned e-mail message might have been sent to me in error, I logged into my account with IHG One Rewards…
…and sure enough, I have Diamond elite status through Thursday, December 30, 2027.
The title of the e-mail message that I received was You’ve earned Diamond Elite status (again), Brian — but I do not know how that happened, as I have only stayed three nights at this point for this year.
I was caught up in the middle of the Diamond elite status debacle back in January of 2026 with the sale of elite qualifying points in which the Diamond elite status for which I paid was suddenly revoked from me.
Apparently, IHG One Rewards membership accounts were under review because a technical glitch awarded some members with Diamond elite status through Friday, December 31, 2027, which was not supposed to happen…
…but now that I received the aforementioned e-mail message, perhaps the “technical glitch” was actually a mistaken early release of a legitimate extension of Diamond elite status?

I am hoping that despite checking my membership account with IHG One Rewards that this is not another technical glitch that could just as unexpectedly be revoked.
Has anyone else received this pleasant surprise of the extension of Diamond elite status through 2027?
