Thoughts For April Fools’ Day 2025.

We could all use a good laugh — or even a smile.

Although I virtually never have engaged in initiating any jokes or pranks, here are some thoughts for April Fools’ Day 2025 — along with an example or two.

Thoughts For April Fools’ Day 2025.

The actual origins of April Fools’ Day are not known; but many theories abound. The day is supposed to be used to invoke harmless fun on unsuspecting people — although sometimes a prank goes too far and could result in real consequences which include lawsuits.

This article asks which are good ideas and which are merely hoaxes from Saturday, April 1, 2023; but here is a hoax for 2025 pertaining to Tampa International Airport changing its name to Giant Flamingo Home:

The most tracked flight today is a Concorde aircraft which operated as Air France flight 9999 from New York to Paris, according to FlightRadar

…but you could read this trip report of my actual experience as a passenger aboard Concorde — along with photographs of the souvenirs which I received during that flight.

Can you guess what is the answer to Worldle for today, Tuesday, April 1, 2025?

One could have mistaken this article for an April Fools’ Day joke with the headline Dr. Anthony Fauci offered a grim ass….

A fun series of videos that were posted for April Fools’ Day was by WestJet Airlines, which included #RALFH. Unfortunately, additions of new editions to this series of videos have been few and far between since Richard Bartrem — who was the vice president of marketing communications and community relations at WestJet Airlines — left the company; but you can view the entire series of ten videos here. I will certainly never forget when Richard Bartrem responded after I poked fun at his Canadian accent from one of the videos.

Although not meant for April Fools’ Day, I had enjoyed Fancy Fast Food, which gave recipes on how to turn ordinary fast food offerings into what appears to be haute cuisine — but the food is still bad for you. Unfortunately, no new entries have been posted by Erik Trinidad since Thursday, February 16, 2012 — but most of the articles are still relevant and humorous.

Why Wait Until April Fools’ Day?

If you could use a laugh or two, you might want to look at these accounts on X — which is formerly known as Twitter — that deal with travel all year round:

  • Fake Points Travel Blogger pokes fun at “travel bloggers” — who are also known as credit card salespeople — is an equal opportunity parody account. I should know because The Gate With Brian Cohen has itself been a target — and I am fine with that.
  • Stansaid Airport is a play on the name London Stansted Airport and creates humorous content that is related mostly to airports but also to other aspects of travel.
  • Ryanair is actually the official X account of the airline — but some of the content that is posted does not hold back; is hilarious; and is blatantly straightforward with no apologies to anyone whatsoever.

Final Boarding Call

I do not usually engage in the antics of April Fools’ Day — with this rare exception that was published on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 — because coming up with something that is genuinely humorous but not harmful or insulting is more difficult to do than one may realize. I find most April Fools’ Day jokes or pranks to not be funny.

I prefer to engage in humor when someone — including myself — least expects it throughout the rest of the year and not on April Fools’ Day itself…

…although on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, a number of readers of The Gate With Brian Cohen thought that my “not getting a vaccine at this time” in response to the 2019 Novel Coronavirus pandemic was an April Fools’ Day joke that was published one day early; but the timing of what became a very controversial article was purely coincidental. Four years after that article was posted, I still have not received the vaccine — I now have no plan or intention to get the vaccine in the future — and somehow I have never suffered from the symptoms of any variation of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus. I also never regretted anything that I had written on that topic. In retrospect, the reaction to that worldwide pandemic seems more like a huge failed April Fools’ Day joke that I hope never repeats itself — but I digress.

Rather, I hope your April Fools’ Day is filled with good humor and harmless fun. If you know of any other social media accounts or weblogs which consistently post funny content throughout the remainder of the year — or if you know of any good April Fools’ Day jokes — and deserve a mention, please post them in the Comments section below.

We could all use a good laugh…
