Trivia time: Actually, bison and prairie dogs share a symbiotic and mutually beneficial relationship. Prairie dogs clip vegetation and maintain shortgrass foraging areas, which bison prefer to eat; and bison fertilize the soil and disturb the earth, which creates ideal conditions for prairie dogs to expand their colonies and thrive. This is one of many win-win relationships in nature.
