Sunday Morning Photograph December 26 2021: A Snowman Welcomes Winter.

Don’t call him a snowflake.

Cookies, raisins, and a carrot may not comprise a great nutritious meal — but they do seem to work in a pinch when needing the eyes, mouth, and nose respectively of a snowman as the winter solstice occurred at 10:59 in the morning Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, which means the winter season has started several days ago in the northern hemisphere.

The good news is that even though many of us are in for at least two months of cold weather, the days are now getting longer — which means spring will be here before you know it…

…but is that why the snowman appears to be smiling? Spring cannot be the reason, as he will melt because of the warmer weather and higher temperatures — so why is he smiling with open “arms”? Could travel be in his future? Is he happy with the scarf which he received as a present for Christmas? Is he happy that today is Boxing Day? Are his plans on ice?

For this Sunday Morning Photograph, you decide what you believe should be the caption for the photograph. I look forward to seeing your thoughts in the Comments section below…

…and while you do so, enjoy that hot cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate as you relax this on winter morning.

Final Boarding Call

I really like capturing a small slice of life with my camera whenever I travel. To me, that tells a story more than photographs at a popular “tourist trap” to which everyone flocks and has seen countless times. This photograph is one of those small slices of life, in my opinion.
