The Bund in Shanghai is one of the more popular places for both visitors and residents alike — day or night — as it stretches for approximately one mile along the Huangpu River, with upscale shopping, grand hotel properties, and restaurants.
Sunday Morning Photograph September 18 2022: Shanghai in China.

Step a few blocks away, however, and one can see what appears to be a completely different city, seemingly devoid of tourists — and even though the smog and pollution can render the sky a dull grey and cause visibility to be significantly reduced at times…

…parts of the city still show vibrant color.
I enjoyed taking photographs of what seemed to be people going about their everyday lives in this city.
Final Boarding Call
I still have to write an article about my experience on the Shanghai Transrapid maglev line — which is the fastest commercial train in the world — other articles which are related to my experience in Shanghai as part of my unintentional trip around the world include:
- No Shortage of Brides and Grooms in Shanghai
- Passing Time: Watching Window Washers at Shanghai Pudong International Airport
- Hyatt On The Bund in Shanghai as a Last-Minute Hotel Option
- 15 Hours From Shanghai to New York on China Eastern Airlines
- Seoul to Shanghai on China Eastern Airlines
The purpose of the weekly series of Sunday Morning Photograph articles is to feature photographs from my travels around the world which you can view while enjoying your morning coffee.
