Reciprocal Partnership Now Complete Between Marriott and MGM Resorts
The new brand created by the receiprocal partnership between MGM Resorts International and Marriott International, Incorporated is now known as MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy, which offers an all-access pass to the largest stage in the world: Marriott Bonvoy Moments inspired by MGM Collection — from curating the production of the legendary fountain show at Bellagio to the heart-pumping thrill of aerial acrobatics with jaw-dropping Cirque du Soleil performers — will transform a stay into a once-in-a-lifetime memory.

Brief History and Background of the Reciprocal Partnership
On Tuesday, July 11, 2023, news was revealed of Hyatt Hotels Corporation and MGM Resorts International to end their reciprocal relationship between the World of Hyatt and MGM Rewards membership programs effective as of Saturday, September 30, 2023 slightly greater than a decade after the partnership was officially formed. The partnership between the Marriott Bonvoy membership program and the MGM Rewards membership program was officially announced on Monday, July 17, 2023.
The exclusive long-term strategic licensing agreement between the Marriott Bonvoy membership program and the MGM Rewards membership program was originally supposed to be in effect as of October of 2023 — but was likely delayed because of the cybersecurity issues with which MGM Resorts International had experienced.
The separate collaboration and exclusive hospitality loyalty marketing agreement of Marriott Bonvoy with BetMGM — which is a leading sports betting and gaming operator that is a joint venture of MGM Resorts International — in the United States and Canada had an initial launch in certain states in the United States yesterday, Thursday, March 7, 2024, with additional states anticipated to launch throughout the year. Members can enjoy online gaming and the opportunity to earn points while playing; then transfer the points to their Marriott Bonvoy accounts for future free nights at Marriott Bonvoy hotel and resort properties — including MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy. Members who link their accounts and play will be able to earn Marriott Bonvoy points on certain BetMGM transactions; and participate in exclusive games, experiences, and offers on the BetMGM platform. BetMGM is proud to provide resources to help customers play responsibly — including GameSense, which is an industry leading program that was developed and licensed to MGM Resorts by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation.

…but one could argue that the benefits of the reciprocal partnership between Marriott Bonvoy and MGM Resorts are not nearly as good as the benefits when Hyatt Hotels Corporation partnered with MGM Resorts, which ended effective as of Saturday, September 30, 2023. Specifically, members of the World of Hyatt membership program were able to use the partnership with MGM Resorts as the best way to attain elite status, which does not seem to be as easy or as quick with Marriott Bonvoy.
Perhaps some of the experiences that are now being offered by MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy — as well as possible future offers, benefits, and experiences — will help to sweeten the reciprocal partnership to members of the Marriott Bonvoy membership program…
