The building complex on Helgeandsholmen that is called Parliament House — or Riksdagshuset — in Stockholm in Sweden is the seat of the Riksdag, which is also known as the parliament of the country.

I walked through the complex on one chilly morning recently while I was in Gamla Stan, which is the Old Town in central Stockholm. The sun was low in the sky on that morning during autumn. I was there too early to be able to see the inside of Riksdagshuset — much of which is open to the public.

Trivia time: Riksdagshuset was constructed in the Neoclassical style — with a centered Baroque Revival style facade section — between 1897 and 1905.
