….but you must be a holder of a Delta SkyMiles American Express Card in order to fully take advantage of this deal, as cardholders are eligible for a discount of 15 percent off of redeeming SkyMiles for award tickets — which is 25,400 SkyMiles round trip to Riyadh in this case — otherwise, the redemption is still an amazing 30,000 SkyMiles.
This purchase was for Basic Economy award tickets. The reason I chose Basic Economy is because I am not earning SkyMiles anyway; the flight should not be completely full, so the selection of a seat is not all that important to me; and the redemption price is so low that I am not too concerned about losing them if for some reason I am not able to travel. I also have SkyTeam Elite status; so I get to board the airplane at Boarding Zone 5 at the latest.

Despite having traveled to countries such as Lebanon, I do have a question to pose to you: the travel advisory of the State Department of the United States officially lists Saudi Arabia as Level 3 – Reconsider travel; and Riyadh is not all that far from Iran, which is currently at war with the United States and has attacked Saudi Arabia. If the travel advisory is not lowered by 2027, should I still consider traveling there?
