Two new updates were announced earlier today from the Homes & Villas by Marriott International brand — which is the only premium vacation home rental platform to participate in a robust frequent guest loyalty program — that will benefit members of Marriott Bonvoy: the launch of using Cash & Points; and stays will count towards Ambassador Elite annual spend.
Two New Home Rental Benefits for Marriott Bonvoy Members 2022 With Homes & Villas by Marriott International
Homes & Villas by Marriott International was first launched in 2019 to provide Marriott Bonvoy members with more choice when they travel — and the brand has curated and grown its inventory of homes greater than 20 times over since launch to a collection of at least 50,000 premium and luxury whole home rentals located in greater than 500 prime destinations around the world. Leveraging Marriott International’s decades of delivering exceptional hospitality experience, each home on the HVMI platform is professionally managed and meets the company’s design, cleanliness, safety and amenity standards.
Homes & Villas by Marriott International, Incorporated includes a unique collection of beachfront bungalows, sprawling villas, grand chateaus, cozy cabins, ski chalets, and characterful townhouses, flats, apartments, penthouses, and other private homes.
You can choose from a number of options:

New Ways To Save With Launch of Cash & Points
As a Marriott Bonvoy member, you now have the flexibility to combine cash and Marriott Bonvoy points when you book your reservations at a private home rental with your Marriott Bonvoy membership number — and as few as 1,000 points can be applied toward a stay.
The Cash & Points Payment at Homes & Villas by Marriott International varies from what you may experience booking using Cash + Points Awards for other brands of participating hotel and resort properties of Marriott Bonvoy, as members using the Cash & Points payment at Homes & Villas by Marriott International will earn Marriott Bonvoy points on the cash portion of their payment once the stay has been completed. Members are also eligible to earn Elite Night Credit when using Cash & Points Payment at Homes & Villas by Marriott International.
Marriott Bonvoy members have the flexibility to combine cash and Marriott Bonvoy points to book your reservations at a private home rental with your Marriott Bonvoy membership number using the following steps:
- Ensure that you are signed into your Marriott Bonvoy membership account with your Marriott Bonvoy membership number.
- Enter the desired destination and dates in the search bar. Select an available home at which you would like to book a reservation.
- Once you are on the individual home listing, you will see the nightly rate, taxes, and fees associated with your selected dates in the rate card. Select Cash & Points under ‘How To Pay’.
- Use the two fields for # of Points and Cash Total to decide on the combination of Cash & Points that you would like to use as payment for your stay. There are no fixed amounts of either cash or Points that you must use, although at least 1,000 points must be used for the Cash & Points payment option. Reminder: You cannot use more points than you currently hold in your Marriott Bonvoy membership account.
- Click Pay With Cash & Points and you will be able to review your home details and prepare to book a reservation at the home.
At this time, Marriott Gift Cards and Marriott Bonvoy Free Night Awards are not accepted when booking reservations through Homes & Villas by Marriott International; and cannot be used for payment in any reservation which is booked — including those using the Cash & Points Payment at Homes & Villas by Marriott International.
Ambassador Elite Annual Spend Update
Stays at Homes & Villas by Marriott International properties will count towards Ambassador Elite annual spend, which gives Marriott Bonvoy members more opportunities to reach this elite tier effective as of Wednesday, January 1, 2022.

Members of Marriott Bonvoy can earn and redeem points at all homes, which provides more choice for a range of travel needs as a complement to the core hotel business of Marriott International. Members earn five points per dollar spent; and elite bonus points apply — plus, members can accelerate the points they earn when they pay with their Marriott Bonvoy cobranded credit cards.
