Even if you cannot find that low of a price per gallon of gasoline right now, some states are seeing fuel stations with prices of gasoline which are currently slightly more expensive than 99 cents per gallon — such as in:

The last time the average price for a gallon of gasoline was 86 cents per gallon was back in 1986 — the year before the stock market crashed — according to this article from the Vehicle Technologies Office of the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy of the United States.

By the way, if you still miss paying expensive prices for a gallon of gasoline, head on over to California, where at least two fuel stations are currently charging $4.79 per gallon.

Summary

If there is a bright spot of any sort in relation to the 2019 Novel Coronavirus — which is also known as COVID-19 or 2019-nCoV — pandemic, prices for a gallon of gasoline have been plummeting to levels which have not been seen in years…

…and according to numerous forecasts, fuel prices will continue to decrease — which means that a greater number of fuel stations in the United States will sell gasoline at less than 90 cents per gallon — or, perhaps, even less still.

As for the last time the price of a gallon of gasoline in the United States was as low as 87 cents per gallon — well…that is still being researched; but I would guess at least 20 years…

…or last month, if you want to count that — although unfortunately, those prices increased since then…

…but at least the number of fuel stations in the United States which sell gasoline for 99 cents per gallon or less has been increasing in recent weeks.

This article is the latest in a series pertaining to the 2019 Novel Coronavirus — which is also known as COVID-19 or 2019-nCoV or SARS-CoV-2 — pandemic in an effort to get the facts out with information derived from reliable sources…

…as well as attempt to maintain a reasoned and sensible ongoing discussion towards how to resolve this pandemic.
