Answers to Past Articles — Part 25: iStore No iPhones to Purchse Onoin Concentrate Punch Signs

What is an onoin? And how do you purchse it?

In past articles in which your participation was not only requested but also helpful and humorous, I did not give the answers to questions which I have posed to you; so this article is the twenty-fifth of a series to do just that — along with links to the aforementioned articles…

I recently received an e-mail message from Xfinity Mobile pertaining to an offer when purchasing a new Apple iPhone 13 Pro — and after I looked over the e-mail message, I wondered what is a purchse?

Favorite answer by Thomas Richard Potter: “I am going to say that they omitted the letter ‘a’ in the word purchase.”

Favorite comment by Len Lich: “SIlence Ring button is missing”

Brazil sign

While visiting Cataratas do Iguaçu — which is known in English as Iguaçu Falls — in Brazil and walking along a road near the famous waterfalls, I spotted a yellow diamond road sign warning of some kind of danger ahead; and I took a couple of photographs of it.

This sign warns pedestrians of loose rocks which could fall at any time — but apparently, this sign warned drivers of motorized vehicles of the hazard at one time in the past, as evidenced by the poor job of taping over the symbol of a car with yellow laminate. The assorted graffiti which is carved into the sign does not help matters any.

Favorite answer by NB_ga: “It appears that the little man was added after the fact… was the graphic of the world crumbling and falling to the ground not frightening enough?”

Favorite comment by Kurt: “If the rockslide doesn’t get him, the ghost car will finish him off.”

Tropicana punch

Grapefruit juice which is not from concentrate is an essential staple for me in the morning, as it is basically my version of coffee — so whenever I need to replenish my supply of what I consider an elixir, I naturally go to the section of the supermarket which offers chilled juices and drinks for sale. However, something caught my eye that did not seem quite right with the Tropicana Island Punch drink, which was on sale the day when I was in the supermarket: the sign on the display indicates that the drink is not from concentrate whereas the label on the packaging clearly indicates otherwise. In fact, the first ingredient is filtered water.

Favorite answer by Lee: “The store’s sign advertises that it is not from concentrate, but the actual ingredients include 4 different kinds of concentrate”

Favorite comment by Vp: “8oz X 6 servings = 48oz not 52oz”

The weather was ideal when I was at a restaurant earlier this year; so I requested a seat at a table on the outdoor patio to dine al fresco. Shortly after being seated, I was given a menu — and although the food which I ate that day ultimately was not all that good, I noticed at least one thing which was wrong that prompted me to take a photograph: among the items which are included with the fried oyster, shrimp, or catfish are red onoins.

Favorite answer by NB_ga: “I generally enjoy onions on a po-boy, but I am not so sure I would enjoy the onoins.”

Favorite comment by Mark: “A hot dog IS a sandwich. Meat between bread.”

iStore

As a purported premium provider of products to purchase in public places from Apple, iStore conveniently sells them at locations such as airports rather than you having to go through all of the drudgery of whipping out a computer or portable electronic device, having to open some software application program, and placing your order in the — gasp! — comfort of your own home. I do not believe that this particular iStore is doing what it is supposed to do.

Favorite answer and comment by derek: “What is so wrong is that next to the kiosk are two sketches of people using landlines! That’s like a porn video booth next to a church!

“As minor points, the carpet is ripped and the kiosk is unfinished, lacking shelves and product.”
