Is This Burger Worth $100? I Finally Tried It; and The Verdict Is…

Watch the video.

I have wondered for almost four years if this particular burger in Las Vegas is worth $100? I finally decided to try it recently — and to my surprise, the price of the burger has not increased.

Is This Burger Worth $100? I Finally Tried It; and The Verdict Is…

Among the dining options that are available at the Aria Resort & Casino hotel complex is an eatery called Posh Burger. Before venturing south to the iconic welcome sign in the middle of Las Vegas Boulevard back in 2022, I thought that perhaps an inexpensive option — of which not too many exist in the Aria Resort & Casino — would be the way to go until dinner later than evening.

When I went to the lobby area to where Posh Burger was located, it appeared to be an ordinary burger joint with nothing that particularly sets it apart from other burger joints, with a regular hamburger costing $12.00 for a single patty with ketchup, mustard, onion, and pickles, which is not exactly inexpensive…

…until I read about one item on the menu which caught my eye: the Posh Royale Burger, which is comprised of wagyu beef, truffle, foie gras, gold dust, posh sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles.

The cost of this hamburger — which reportedly debuted in June of 2021 — is one hundred dollars.

I stood there and wondered if I should “take one for the team” and spend one hundred dollars on a hamburger. That could be a potentially good article about which to write, I thought to myself…

…but I then wondered how many readers thought I would be foolish to spend one hundred dollars on a hamburger — and I then thought to myself if I would get any sort of return on my investment. I mean, restaurants exist where I can dine on better versions of wagyu beef; I am not particularly fond of liver, so foie gras did not exactly appeal to me; and what could gold dust taste like, anyway?

I backed out, as I had already determined that I probably would not have purchased an ordinary hamburger at this place anyway. Why would I spend one hundred dollars on one of these hamburgers when I did not think that a minimum of $17.00 was a good deal if French fries — or some other side item — were added to the order?

As I mentioned in this article, “I certainly do not have what anyone would consider a sophisticated gourmet palate” — so would I have been able to opine on my experience appropriately?

The restaurant that was mentioned in the aforementioned article does not exist anymore because it was located in Tropicana Las Vegas, which was closed in April of 2024 before it was demolished on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 to give way for a new stadium to be built, at which the former Oakland Raiders would play their home games as the Las Vegas Raiders.

Comments From Readers of The Gate With Brian Cohen

Since I wrote this article on Thursday, July 21, 2022, I had returned to Las Vegas numerous times, wondering each time if I should try this hamburger.

“Btw, if I publicly reviewed food as a job [part or full time, or even just for fun,] I’d review the $100 Burger. Why? Because it’s unusual and for many… unobtainable” is what Julie Marsh opined. “If it’s great, people can let their taste buds live vicariously through you. If it’s crap, people can feel better about not being able to afford such a ‘ridiculously priced burger!’”

Ben O wrote and posted this comment: “The fact your posting and article to decide if it’s worth it already tells you it is worth it! If it wasn’t you wouldn’t even have the question. So March back down there buy the darn burger and send us lots of pictures!”

The readers of The Gate With Brian Cohen have spoken. I listened.

Trying the $100.00 Posh Royale Burger

I decided to finally go for it on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 — and you can watch me try the Posh Royale Burger for the first time in this video — if you dare. You only live once.

Fortunately, the area was not crowded, as I ordered the burger before noon.

The sound of applause and cheers unexpectedly emanated from the box when I opened it…

…so I looked underneath the insert of the box — and I found the mechanism underneath it that supplied the sound effects.

The cardboard tray on which the burger sat was easily removed from the box itself so that the burger can be viewed in all its glory.

The bun was lifted off of the burger to view its ingredients.

I also tried the regular hamburger, which reminded me of a similar burger from Johnny Rockets in terms of flavor and texture. The onion rings were crispy and flavorful. The strawberry shake was quite good, as it tasted like real strawberries were one of the ingredients.

Final Boarding Call

The hamburger left a significant puddle of grease behind. I suppose that the Posh Royale Burger is not exactly the healthiest food experience that ever existed. I also found a sizable piece of gristle in the burger as I was eating it.

Trying the Posh Royale Burger was indeed a unique experience for me. I do not regret that I took the opportunity to experience eating this hamburger; but I would not do it again, either.

The only reason why I would recommend trying the Posh Royale Burger would be if you were doing it for the first time — or if you really liked it that much that you would pay a total of $118.38 every time to eat it. I, personally, am not one of those people, which is why I stopped short of recommending the Posh Royale Burger: the price point is simply too expensive.
