I looked north and enjoyed aerial views of Memphis from the airplane aboard which I was a passenger as it was flying west from Atlanta to Las Vegas recently.
Aerial Views of Memphis. Sunday Morning Photograph.

Downtown Memphis is clearly visible in the upper left corner of the photograph above as the Mississippi River meanders past the city. With a couple of exceptions, the land on the left — or west — side of the river is part of eastern Arkansas. Two bridges cross the Mississippi River: the one furthest north carries Interstate 40; while Interstate 55 goes across the other bridge on an angle.
The terminal building at Memphis International Airport is rather distinctive, as it is shaped like a white letter Y.

Final Boarding Call
Trivia time: Memphis International Airport was once an official hub airport of Delta Air Lines until September of 2013.
